The Nika Gals
Nika means ‘conquer’ or ‘victory’ in Greek, which is fitting since we want to ‘conquer’ the current secularized culture. You may have also seen icons of Christ with the letters IC XC NIKA, which means Jesus Christ Conquers. It is only through Jesus Christ and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary that we will be able to conquer the culture for Christ and His Church.
Young Catholic Women Stitching the Standard
In medieval times, a lady would sew for her knight a standard for him to carry into battle. This standard would identify who he was and who or what he fought for. By virtue of our womanhood, we are able to inspire and influence those around us, whether for good or bad. Maybe you have heard the sayings, “Behind every great man is a great woman” or “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.” There is a truth in these sayings about our God-given gifts as women. To learn more about it, we recommend reading Pope St. John Paul II’s Mulieris Dignitatem and watching The Rich Gift of Love series. Through this blog, we want to inspire and assist you in the stitching of your standard, so that you may influence your family and friends to bring Christ and His Church into the culture.
